About Val Fiott

Val Fiott is a nationally recognized Medical Exercise Specialist with over 30 years of experience in post-rehab, injury recovery, and functional restoration post surgery or cardiovascular intervention. His career spans clinical collaboration, private coaching, and professional education—earning him a reputation as a trusted leader in the integration of exercise and medical recovery.

A former Corporate Physical Health Director with certifications from five Ivy League institutions, Val was first certified in 1994. Over thirty years and 1000 clients later, Val has remained a vocal advocate for evidence-based exercise interventions as a primary tool in the recovery/prevention continuum. This was especially prominent during his 14 years as SME for the American Council on Exercise, where he helped to shape national certification standards.

Val is most known for his grasp on the science of exercise, and his ability to guide clients through complex recovery paths—including post-surgical reconditioning, chronic injury management, neurological stabilization, and metabolic health enhancement. His methods improve mobility, restore joint integrity, enhance cardiovascular capacity, and reduce re-injury risk, all while bridging the critical gap between physical therapy discharge and full functional independence.

Success Stories

Since I started with Val six months ago, I feel stronger, I have improved balance, and I have a stronger feeling of self-confidence. He's been very encouraging and I look forward to each session.

Since I began my health program with Val, I've gained noticeable leg strength and I have much better balance, especially getting into or out of the tub. We've made great lifestyle changes, too. For example, I was having at least one bottle per day of Pepsi, sometimes more. I also have brittle bones, and when Val told me that I was ‘poisoning myself’ that really brought it to a head in terms of my awareness and change. I'm making new changes daily and no longer need my blood pressure medication thanks to my personalized program.

I’ve learned how to pursue physical fitness, not just through exercise, but through good nutrition. I also know how to control and use my muscles a lot better than I did before. I feel healthy and well and am able to lead an active full life at 74 yrs. old.

I feel more energetic! I used to have lower back pain. I don't have lower back pain anymore. It's the energy [I get from the program] and feeling good about myself.

I'm moving better, I'm getting out of chairs with ease, and I'm feeling strong. I've even lost some weight, too. Val is the best teacher, and he motivates me to do things I didn't think I could do anymore.

I have lost 50 pounds in a year with Val. I used to take Motrin every day for my back and knees. That pain is gone. No Motrin in 6 months. I feel 25 years younger and have endless energy. I can hike at 12,000 feet and not suck wind. Thank you so very much Val!

Val has changed my life. When we first started working together I could barely function with brain fog, blood pressure fluctuations, vertigo and other autonomic issues. He adjusts each of our sessions based upon how i am feeling in the moment and how I look to him. He has been a God send to me. I am feeling much better and look forward to continuous improvement under Val’s guidance.

At first, I couldn’t even do one pushup. Now, I can do three sets of 18! I thought lunges must be some form of torture. Even though I was an out-of-shape 59 year-old, I’ve had no injuries! Thanks, Val!

I was not able to stand out of a chair very well at first. My balance was a problem for me before I started with Val. He got me working on posture and a series of balance exercises and strengthening. It’s really paid off. I feel I’ve gotten much stronger and I am walking with much more control. I am very pleased and very gratified.

It all started with my posture and my balance. I couldn't really turn around anymore without thinking I was going to fall. I was doing an exercise routine before I met Val, but Val showed me why it wasn't helping and what I needed. My doctor and my family can't believe it - how well I move now.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with Val's training. We are 73 and 81, with lifelong athletic backgrounds. We wanted a trainer who would be aware of our age-related limitations, but would give us good workouts. Val is perfect! He watches carefully, corrects bad positioning, ramps up the strenuousness gradually, uses good exercises (some that neither of us had done before, but are clearly useful), and explains clearly and convincingly. We can feel the effect of the exercises the next day, but we're not crippled by them - which is perfect. On top of that, he is a really nice guy. He's cheerful, patient and encouraging, and easy to talk to. As I said: we couldn't be happier, and we highly recommend him.

Val has been able to work with me from what l call "grass to glory". I'm 80 years old and was recovering from an extensive abdominal surgery. I was at the end of the rope, so to speak, when l met Val. I am still a work in progress. But, I'm much, much better. I can get up by myself and do most activities of daily living. All of which l needed help/ and or supervision before then. Not only has he helped me to meet most of my fitness goals but he also provides needed advice on my nutrition, diet supplements and my water intake. I'm able to climb the 14 stairs in my house for the first time in 20 months. Different people have worked with me from hospital, to rehab and at home. Val tops them all. Thank u very much Dr Val!!! The amazing part of it all is that he successfully helped me accomplish all of my goals while working with me remotely. He's a good listener and a great teacher . He explains the science behind each fitness goal in details yet simple enough for me to understand and easy to follow. Dr Val is your man hands down!!!

Val is caring and motivating. He stuck with me even though I had given up on myself. I'd get encouraging check-in messages from him that helped. I regained my enthusiasm for the work and jumped back in. He reviewed my medical issues, current health status, and physical abilities and created a customized program for me. He also modifies the work based on my daily physical situation. He is not just a personal trainer. He's become my life coach, nutritionist, and emotional support person. If you have the opportunity to get on his schedule, I highly advise you to put him on your calendar.

Val is extremely knowledgeable. He listens and evaluates specific needs and issues to be addressed. He understands the need to listen to his clients in order to formulate a personalized approach to the goals of the client. He utilizes the scheduled time efficiently and completely. I give a 5+ star rating, well worth the time and investment.

Val has done more for me than my regular doctor has ever done. I was afraid to go up the stairs before. I needed pills just to do my day. With the program, I'm losing weight and I feel so much better.
